NAMI Greater Cleveland Annual Meeting and Awards Ceremony

NAMI Greater Cleveland’s Annual Meeting and Awards Ceremony: Keynote Speaker is U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown. Tickets are $35 for members and $40 for non members and include lunch. Those being honored at the event include:
Anne McCabe: Mental Health Family Caregiver Award
Cynthia Cekanski, Regional Director of Operations at CommuniCare Health Services: Cultural Competence in Mental Health Award.
Roberta Taliaferro, Director of Counseling and Community Services for May Dugan Center: Mental Health Provider Award.
Cuyahoga County Adult Probation Mental Health Unit: Eugene Brudno Memorial Organization Award.

Joel's Place for Children Grief Support Groups
7:00 PM - 8:15 PM
The peer support groups are open to children and teens ages 5-18 who have experienced the death of someone special in their lives. A support group for parents and/or caregivers of children who are grieving will meet concurrently.
Children and teens can express feelings, share memories, and honor their loved ones in a caring and hope-filled environment. Sessions involve participation in arts and crafts, games, age-appropriate discussions, and other activities designed to help children express their feelings in a safe and supportive atmosphere with other children who have experienced a death. Support groups are conducted by trained facilitators.
Joel’s Place for Children is a non-profit organization that provides services free of charge to families.
