"First Responders Appreciation Night"
6:30 PM - 11:00 PM
American Legion To Host Inaugural First Responder’s Appreciation Night
The American Legion Post 572 in Parma Ohio is hosting a First Responders Appreciation Night on May 20th at the Holiday Inn in Independence Ohio. The event is being dubbed as “Heroes Honoring Heroes” as the Veterans from the American Legion along with some local businesses are picking up the tab for first responders and their spouse or guest to attend the gala event.
A semi-formal event which will feature an opening ceremony of placing of the colors by the American Legion Post 572 color guard along with the Parma Fire Department and Police department honor guards. A mix and mingle cocktail hour, sit down dinner, dancing, entertainment by the very popular “Rat Pack and More”. Many dignitaries, guest speakers, awards and a Proclamation by City of Parma Mayor Timothy DeGeeter proclaiming May 20th as “First Responders Appreciation Day”.
Organizer of the event Tony Kessler Commander of American Legion Post 572, a Vietnam Era Veteran says that Veterans are always getting “thank you for your service” but rarely does anyone go to a police or fire person with a thank you for your service. He also says that “Veterans are many times referred to as Heroes’, but our battles are behind us, today’s heroes are the men and women in blue who are fighting the battles everyday throughout the streets of our cities. We need to show our appreciation, especially in this day and age where there is much opposition and disrespect to law enforcement”.
To show your support to our first responders you sponsor a first responder or purchase general attendee tickets to this event, Call or Email Tony Kessler 440-263-0507 or Email: commanderpost572@yahoo.com
