“Selma to Montgomery—What Does it Take to March?”: An Immersive Experience
7:00 PM - 8:30 PM
1965 was a pivotal year in the Civil Rights struggle, and much of the country’s attention was focused on the states of the Deep South. Join Heights Community Congress and Heights Libraries as we take a close look at what it took for dedicated people to stand up to injustice and racism, often at great personal cost.

People of all backgrounds participated in the marches from Selma to Montgomery; many were injured and several were killed in events surrounding the marches. What are you willing to do, and how much would you sacrifice, to effect change? Compass Consulting will lead this role play and discussion, centered on the march from Selma to Montgomery, Alabama.

Everyone is welcome to participate in this immersive experience. If you’d like to get more involved, email us at info@heightscongress.org and let us know. We have a few spots available for leaders to play prominent roles--we’ll provide you with material ahead of time to help you get into “character.”

This event is FREE and open to the public. Reservations are appreciated but walk-ins are always welcome.
