This month I am writing to report that the Third Annual Parma Run/Walk for Pierogies was an overwhelming success thanks to the support of 550 participants, several volunteers and many sponsors. All total we raised nearly $9,000 for some excellent causes, including the American Cancer Society, All Faiths Pantry and the Parma All Kids Playground Project. This column is my attempt to thank all who contributed to the event’s success.

Special congratulations to our first place winner for the third year in a row Aaron Apathy who set a new course record of 15:33, as well as to Padua Franciscan High School’s own Jamie Adams, our first place female for the second year in a row, coming in at 19:23.
