The Month of July Is A Firecracker Month
On the 1st of July, we observe National
Postal Worker Day; and on the 4th of
July, we celebrate Independence Day,
Which began in the year 1776, the day
We separated from British rule and
Created our own new nation.
Throughout our 50 states, many
Families gather to celebrate this day
By enjoying outdoor picnics.
Grills are hot–hamburgers, chicken
And hot dogs are sizzling, just
Waiting to be eaten.
Children run and play, dad and the
Boys have a game of baseball, and
The girls play a game of volley ball.
Grandparents sit in the shade and
Talk about the good old days.
After eating a delicious meal, almost
Everyone just relaxes; no one wants
To eat another morsel of food!
When the evening drops its curtain,
Families go to nearby parks to watch
The fireworks–colorful explosions in
The darkened sky; after the sky has
Dimmed and everybody has climbed
Into their van or four-door car--homeward
Bound--children fall fast asleep in the
Backseat, only to be carried upstairs to
Their tiny beds; then they get a kiss, a
Good-night and pleasant dreams,
Parents then tiptoeing back down the
Stairs!
On July 27th, the Korean war ended.
We fly our flag to honor those
Veterans.
July, as you can see, is a Red, White
And Blue firecracker month!
HAVE FUN!
