Parma Police Arrest Three Men In Connection With Early Morning Home Invasion And Police Pursuit

Parma Police arrested three men this morning in connection with an early morning home invasion that occurred at a residence located in the 2900 block of Friar Drive in Parma. The three men were captured after a pursuit that started in Parma, ended when the men crashed a stolen van into a residence in the 6200 block of Delora Avenue in Brooklyn.

On January 21, 2016 at approximately 6:15am, Parma Police received a call from a resident on Friar Drive who reported that a male victim from another residence on the street, knocked on their door reporting that he was the victim of a home invasion. Police later learned that three unidentified suspects entered the victim’s home, assaulted him and tied him up. The suspects then ransacked the victim’s home and later fled the area in the victim’s van.

Several minutes after receiving the call, a Parma officer observed the stolen van heading northbound on State Road near Wellington Avenue. The officer attempted to the stop the van, at which time the driver fled, leading officers on a pursuit. The pursuit entered into Cleveland and ended when the driver of the van crashed into a house in the 6200 block of Delora Avenue in Brooklyn. The van’s driver, along with two male occupants fled from the scene. Officers from Parma, Brooklyn, and Cleveland searched the area and all three suspects were taken into custody without incident.

The victim was taken to Metro Hospital and is being treated for serious injuries sustained during the assault. The identities of the three suspects will be released after they are charged in Parma Municipal Court.
