No Excuses For Holding Back This Holiday Season! Celebrate!

It's not about the drinks. It's about family. And drinks! So here are tasty choices for those inclined to imbibe with the family kind. Our local Ohio winery Ferrante offers a few choices for the holidays. The Celebration Spice Red is a sweet festive red wine mulled with cinnamon, nutmeg, and clove. The Ferrante Holiday Blush has medium sweetness, nice fruit, and some spices. A refreshing choice for the average family drinker who likes "Jester's Blush." It features mild sweetness with some spices since the season requires them spices! Both of these are great gifts for family and friends who enjoy wines on the sweeter side.

We can't leave out our beer drinking millenial cousins who spend their time growing beards and talking about "micro brews" and "the craft beer market." These guys don't want the Great Lakes Christmas Ale that has served our family well for years. They have a more "sophisticated palate" and want bright hops and balanced citrus acidity! For those who find Fathead's "Holly Jolly" too spiced up to consume, I recommend both of the following options. Sierra Nevada's "Celebration" has bright citrus and pine notes from the hops. It comes in at 6.8% ABV and is a nice offering for the beer connoisseur in the family. Another great local option is Columbus Brewing's "Citra Noel". This ale is packed with delicious tropical fruit notes and deep malt which are gladly welcomed by those with an aversion to spicy Christmas ale aberrations! So this holiday season there is no reason to be sober with relatives.

All of these choices are available at grocery stores and corner markets throughout Northeastern Ohio and should be an easy gift for dealing with enjoying family throughout this cherished time! Cheers!
