Parma Police Arrest Man In Connection With Attacking His Girlfriend

Parma Police have arrested a 51 year-old Parma man in  connection with allegedly beating and sexually assaulting his girlfriend over the weekend. The man is currently being in the Parma Jail on charges of Felonious Assault, Domestic Violence, and Rape.   

On Saturday, January 14, 2017 at approximately 12:00 pm, Parma Police responded to a residence in the 7000 block of State Road after receiving a call to check on the welfare of a woman who lives at the residence. When officers arrived, they found the victim alone inside the home with serious injuries to her face. Officers also observed the home to be in disarray. 

The victim told police that during the early morning hours of January 14th, her boyfriend entered her bedroom and attacked her while she was sleeping. The victim said he pointed a gun at her and struck her several times on her face with his hands and with the gun. She also reported that her boyfriend fired two shots with the gun next to her, but she was not hit. The victim also reported that during the incident, her boyfriend allegedly sexually assaulted her. The victim was later taken to Metro Hospital and treated for her injuries.  

Parma Police later received information that the male was at a business in North Royalton. North Royalton Police responded to the location and took the male into custody without incident. He was brought back to the Parma jail where he is currently being held pending criminal charges.  

The male suspect will appear in Parma Municipal Court tomorrow, January 17, 2017. The male suspect’s identity will be released once he is officially charged in connection with this incident.

This is an ongoing investigation and no further details will be released at this time.
