Parma Police Officer Indicted By Cuyahoga County Grand Jury

On February 2, 2017, the Parma Police Department was notified by prosecutors from the Cuyahoga County Prosecutor’s Office that one of our officers was indicted by a grand jury on felony charges of Identity Fraud and Obstructing Justice.

The officer is Michael E. Yonek, a 42 year-old male. He has been with the department since August 28, 1997. He was currently assigned to the patrol division.

As a result of this criminal indictment, Yonek was immediately placed on unpaid administrative leave, pending the adjudication of the criminal charges. The department will be conducting an internal investigation into the matter. Please contact the Cuyahoga County Prosecutor’s Office for any questions about the specific allegations in this case.
