Cassidy Theatre Presents: A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum

The Cassidy Theatre will present A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum June 9-25, 2017, with performances at 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, and at 3 p.m. Sundays.

Written by Burt Shevelove and Larry Gelbart, with music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, this fast-paced farce promises to have you rolling on the floor with laughter.  The show combines the ancient comedies of Plautus with a  vaudevillian delivery.

Here’s the storyline: A bawdy slave named Pseudolus schemes to win his own freedom by winning the heart of the beautiful virgin, Phelia, for his young master, Hero. Chaos ensues with hair-brained schemes, cases of mistaken identity, slamming doors and convoluted plot twists. The production is directed and choreographed by Kristin Netzband with musical direction from Heidi Herczeg. Cast members include Jeremy Jenkins, Tyler Martin, Christian Thomas and Sydney Stone.

Tickets are $20 for adults, and $15 for students and senior citizens. Call the Cassidy Theatre Box Office at 440.842.4600, or visit www.cassidytheatre.org. You can also find information about upcoming Youth Theatre Classes, order gift cards, or purchase tickets for upcoming shows. Supported in part by the residents of Cuyahoga County through a public grant from Cuyahoga Arts & Culture, the theatre is located at 6200 Pearl Road in the Greenbrier Commons complex.
