Parma Honors Business, Citizen Of The Month

State Road Pizza owners Paul & Sue Horkey with Mayor Tim DeGeeter and Ward Four Councilman Mark Casselberry.

State Road Pizza was named the Mayor’s Business of the Month for July, and the Citizen of the Month was Chris Knebusch. Both were honored at an August meeting of Parma City Council. State Road Pizza owners Paul and Sue Horkey celebrated 70 years in business for State Road Pizza. The business is well-known for heart-shaped pizza for special occasions. The business also recently added home delivery. Citizen of the Month Knebusch was accompanied by plenty of family when he came to be honored by City Council. He was honored for his considerable volunteer work staging City-sponsored parades. This can often be a thankless job and the city is appreciative of his volunteer efforts, not just for city parades, but also for the Parma Area Chamber of Commerce and the former Jaycees. Chris and his wife Fran have been married 31 years and have three kids and many grandkids. He is a concerned, committed and active resident and that makes a better Parma for all of us.
