MyCom Youth Corner

April Highlights Four youth council members participated in Global Youth Service Day at the MetroParks West Creek Reservation on April 21. Patrick from the MetroParks talked about his expectations.  The youth learned a valuable life lesson as they went around picking up debris and trash. They all said they would never smoke (due to all the cigarette butts) and all said they had never been to West Creek and wanted to come back. After lunch, we went to the Watershed Stewardship Center. One of the naturalists, Matt, came out and took us into a classroom and let the youth compare possum, raccoon, coyote and deer skulls. Both Patrick and Matt spoke about their education and career paths. All in all, it was a wonderful, educational opportunity.
