UH Parma Opens Pain Clinic In North Royalton YMCA

Kutaiba Tabbaa, MD

University Hospitals Parma Medical Center has expanded its comprehensive pain management program to a new location in the North Royalton YMCA, further enhancing its already robust presence at 11409 State Road.

UH Parma Medical Center has maintained 7,000 square feet of space, including physical and aquatic therapy services, in the North Royalton YMCA since its 2012 opening. UH Parma’s Pain Management program will provide office consults, joints injection and other treatments for pain, helping patients return to healthy, active lifestyles. Providers in this location include Harpreet Singh, MD, and Kutaiba Tabbaa, MD, both experienced physicians who joined UH Parma earlier this year.

“We look forward to utilizing innovative pain management techniques to decrease our patients’ dependency on medication and improve their outcomes,” says Dr. Tabbaa, the Medical Director who came to UH from MetroHealth, where he led their pain management program for decades and instructed generations of medical students, residents and fellows. He has experience with a vast variety of interventional pain therapies including advanced spinal injections, joint injections, radiofrequency ablation, kyphoplasties, implantable therapies like spinal cord stimulators and intrathecal pumps, and even an IV infusion therapy treatment that relieves central neuropathic and fibromyalgia pain and decrease reliance on opioid narcotics.

“University Hospitals is pleased to provide more services to the people of North Royalton and surrounding communities through our long-established relationship with the city and the YMCA,” says Brian Monter, President of UH Parma Medical Center. “Residents and YMCA members can benefit greatly from the establishment of pain management and healing services in this convenient location. This move reinforces our commitment to the City of North Royalton, one of the hospital’s founding communities nearly 60 years ago.”

North Royalton Mayor Larry Antoskiewicz said he appreciated UH Parma’s commitment to the community.

“We have enjoyed a longstanding relationship with University Hospitals Parma Medical Center, which is committed to the health and wellbeing of our community,” said the mayor. “This is just another extension of that great partnership, and we are looking forward to a deeper collaboration and increased services.”
