Ace Hardware Coming To The Shoppes At Parma

Ace of Parma, “the helpful place hardware store,” is scheduled to open in the former A.C. Moore store location at The Shoppes at Parma in December 2020. The store at the West Ridgewood Drive shopping development will span 18,000 square feet and stock numerous product lines for the home and garden. This is the first Ace franchise in Parma. “Ace is committed to providing home maintenance solutions, neighborly advice and resources to Parma residents,” said David Mott, who is managing the Mott family-owned Ace of Parma. “We’re excited to be part of the community, and we look forward to making a positive impact for many years to come.”

Erik Tollerup, Parma community services director, said, “A hardware store has been the second most-requested business for the city to attract. We’re excited to have those requests now answered.” Mott said the hardware store will provide personalized customer service and well-known brands such as Craftsman, Weber, Valspar and Scotts to local homeowners and DIYers. Ace will also offer solutions to everyday home-maintenance needs through an extensive selection of products in categories such as paint, outdoor grilling, gardening and lawn care. “I am extremely excited about Ace Hardware coming to our city and The Shoppes at Parma. No doubt, this store will do well and will be very busy. This is something our administration through our Economic Development Office has been trying to attract for a number of years,” Parma Mayor Tim DeGeeter said. “The nationally known hardware store has a solid reputation for providing good customer service and quality products. David Mott, who is the vice president of Allied Development, has successfully taken over management of The Shoppes property, and this a great addition. I know I will be a regular customer.”

Mott said he is currently looking for qualified candidates with store management background to send resumes to aceofparma@allied-development.com. He said residents with backgrounds in the trades or who are knowledgeable about tools and hardware should look for new job openings coming soon. Headquartered in Oak Brook, Ill., Ace Hardware is a retailer-owned hardware cooperative with more than 5,200 locally owned and operated hardware stores in about 70 countries. Ace has been around since 1924 and is known for the jingle, "Ace is the place with the helpful hardware folks."

The Mott family-owned Allied Development Group is a real estate ownership and management firm based in Great Neck, N.Y. It boasts roughly 2.5 million square feet of retail and industrial properties located in five states.
