PSO Plans Performances

During these difficult times the Parma Symphony is not performing in a live concert setting. They are preparing a virtual season until they can all perform again in a live venue. Their next virtual performance will broadcast on Cox Communication station 74 in collaboration with PACT-TV will be on December 6th at 3:00pm. It will feature members of the Parma Symphony Orchestra performing solos and small ensembles with Holiday Favorites and various classical pieces.

They look forward to the time when they can once again perform in person at Valley Forge High School. Future regulations, recommendations, and school policy decisions are being developed, monitored, and implemented so that they can return to the stage. Once these guidelines and safety standards are developed by medical and scientific groups regarding performing ensembles and they are able to implement them, they plan return to live performances early next year. If a vaccine will be developed soon they plan to return as a full ensemble in March. The following dates have been scheduled the following tentative dates: March 14 – “Symphonic Dances” by Rachmaninoff, “Peter and the Wolf” by Prokofieff and May 3 featuring: Russlan und Ludmilla Overture – Glinka, Symphony No. 4 - Florence Price.  Stay tuned for more information. As they are experiencing no ticket income this year and are still incurring operating expenses they are seeking donations. Donations to the Parma Symphony Orchestra are tax deductible under section of 170 of the Internal Revenue code.  Donations allow the Symphony to continue their tradition of performing outstanding music for our own community at a reasonable price. Please consider sending a donation payable to “Parma Symphony Orchestra” and mail to:  PO BOX 29622, Parma, Ohio 44129
