  The County Board of Health has, just within the last few months, gone live with "www.216teens.org".  This web site, designed for and promoted to teens, "....is the basis of a new awareness campaign to prevent teen pregnancy & the spread of STD's among youth throughout the county. It's designed to educate & motivate teenagers (14 - 19) about safer sexual behaviors & to increase their use of trusted health services and resources."  It’s an intuitive, well designed site containing easily understood topics/information on puberty, anatomy, mental & emotional health, STD’s. birth control, gender identity issues, a SEX ED Glossary, a Directory of Resources of all types, plus others. O  Plan now to take your kids and attend the 3rd Annual Parma Early Childhood PTA "Touch-A-Truck" event scheduled for Sunday, September 17th from Noon to 5 pm.  It will again be held at the UH/Parma Health Education Center, 7300 State Rd. One of many highlights will be helicopter landings & liftoffs at 2:00 & 3:30 pm
O  Community Clergy And Laity Training To Aid Our Veterans....This two-session, focused, outreach program is opened to all churches and is being held at Ridgewood United Methodist Church, 6330 Ridge Rd from 8:30am 12:45 pm on Thursday, Oct 5th & Thursday Oct 19th. With a continental breakfast & materials being provided, registration is strongly encouraged. O  The Collab's next Mobile Food Pantry will be this Thursday, September 14th. During the afternoon distribution UH/Parma Medical Center’s Community Health Nurses will be offering FREE blood pressure screenings and a representative from the Parma Health Ministry will be available to help folks apply for prescription assistance.

  A new session of the popular Parenting Partners program is scheduled to begin on Monday, Sept. 11th. Classes are $20 and take place every Monday from 5 pm to 7 pm for 8 weeks; childcare & dinner is provided. For information or to register call the Collab at 440.887.4873.

Camp Cheerful has announced dates for the 2017/2018 horseback riding program for pre-school & kindergarten children. Classes are scheduled for 10:30 am, the 2nd or 3rd Monday of each month, starting Sept 18th. Cost is $25 to include 1/2 hour of riding & 1/2 hr of ground activities.
