4th Annual Parma Fall Food Drive And Shred Event

Save The Date!! 4th Annual Parma Fall Food Drive and Shred Event, Saturday, Oct. 30th, From 10 am - 2 pm At the Parma Armory 5301 Hauserman Rd, Parma, OH 44130

Help our local food bank collect food donations to keep their shelves stocked. For the free shredding service, residents are asked to donate non-perishable food items for the Parma Hunger Center, which will be on site collecting donations. Residents are not required to stay while their confidential documents are being shredded, but they are expected to secure their documents. Bagged documents should be tied, and boxed documents should have a lid. Paper documents should not be bound with rubber bands, paper clips or binders. Also, no plastic folders or sleeves can be included. These materials can jam the shredding machine.

Some top items we are seeking are, but not limited to, peanut butter, spaghetti sauce, noodles, and any other canned vegetable. These are most items that are continuously asked for and need to take care of families that may be living right next door to you. Last year (2020) the Parma Hunger Center provided approximately an 8-day supply of food to 1,878 Parma families, totaling 5,540 individuals.

The Parma Food Drive and Shred Event is a great way to raise awareness about hunger in our community and encourage others to help. Hunger affects every community, but many people don't realize it. Please help spread the word about this event.

According to the Greater Cleveland Food Bank:

One in six residents from our six-county service area was food insecure in the past several years. More than one in five children lived in food insecure households. Also, Cuyahoga County has the highest number of food insecure residents, including children, in the State of Ohio. Let’s make a difference!
