July Event Alert: Upcoming Writing Opportunities In Parma

Next week, the Flamingo Writers’ Guild is hosting two events for writers, amateur and professional alike! One is an in-person writing workshop, and the second is an opportunity to hear a veteran author read and share their own work.

First, on Monday, July 11th, there is a Wellness Writing Workshop at the Powers Blvd Library near the hospital. Starting at 6:30 PM, this workshop is an opportunity for fiction, nonfiction, poetry, and memoir writers alike to express themselves in a comfortable environment with two established authors. The goal of the Wellness Workshop is to use camaraderie and a safe environment to create new work without peer judgment. It is the ideal way to create new work without worrying about what others might think.

The second event is online at 7 PM on Tuesday, July 12th over Zoom. This event offers a reading and open mic for participants, featuring author and poet Steve Brightman for the Flamingo Writers’ Guild monthly reading series Mingle with the Flamingos. After Steve reads, participants can share work of their own or simply listen along to accomplished writers sharing their craft.

Both of these events are free, open to writers of all genres, and we encourage you to attend – and hopefully participate!
