Blue Whales At Your Library

Blue whales average 88 feet long.

Blue Whales at Your Library will be at Parma-Powers Branch of Cuyahoga County Public Library from December 26, 2023 to April 30, 2024. Visit the Children’s Room to explore the world of the largest animal ever to have lived and learn about our own unique wildlife.

See the life-size whale-tail floor mat. Learn about whale size and anatomy from illustrations by the Ukrainian author, Yuliya Barannikova and artist, Teti︠a︡na Kopytova of the children’s book, The Blue Whale. See a short version of the new film, Blue Whales: Return of the Giants or explore an interactive app about blue whales. Read books about whales and the ocean in a variety of languages.

Parma-Powers Branch will present storytimes and STEM programs about whales, the ocean and conservation. Meet two local giants, the endangered Lake Sturgeon and Dunkleosteus, a Devonian fish that hunted sharks when a shallow sea covered Cleveland.
