Welcome To City Hall? Not So Subtle Message To Parma Citizens
Have you been up to Parma City Hall recently? Parma's Municipality has rolled up the Welcome mats and hidden them away. City Hall is now a restricted area.Take your turn and sit in the lobby. While I waited for a member of the Municipality, a resident can no longer knock on an office door or approach council office chambers I witnessed 15 residents go through the metal detector, understanding the gravity of the times, by removing watches, cell phones and the like without hesitation. What's new is that now a visitor is asked to state their business. A side note is that the guard I watched on duty was extremely courteous and professional. Yet those ropes and restricted signs spoke volumes louder.
Mayor Degeeter has had multiple terms yet the walls on the castle grow higher as he continues to distance himself from the townspeople. Between 1:45 -3:00 pm while I waited 15 residents entered city hall not to loiter or stir up trouble but to do something more dastardly. Pay thier taxes. Everyone except the couple with a baby seeking a birth certificate. I wonder if the restrooms are restricted?
