Wheels For Meals “Cruise In” June 5th To Benefit All Faiths Pantry
The 2nd Annual Wheels for Meals Cruise-In will be held at Yorktown Lanes on Wednesday, June 5th. Whether you come to show off your car or just stop in to experience a blast from your past, all are welcome to this family friendly event to benefit All Faiths Pantry. Last June, over 55 cars and trucks – classic, custom, hot rod, rat rod and convertibles - cruised in to Yorktown Lanes in Parma Hts. It was a great first effort with beautiful weather, plenty of parking and three Choice Awards given out.
The idea of Wheels for Meals came from All Faiths Pantry volunteer, Carl Schanz, who owns a 1956 Chevy. He wanted to help get the word out about the important work AFP does helping seniors, add in his love of classic cars, and you get a fun time for all at a Cruise-In. Also known as DJ Carl, he will be spinning the tunes out of his '56 Chevy with a selection of great oldies from the ‘50s, ‘60s, and ‘70s.
A partner of the Greater Cleveland Food Bank, All Faiths Pantry has been delivering groceries at no cost to the homes of low-income older adults in Old Brooklyn, Parma, Parma Hts. and surrounding communities for over 17 years. Volunteers make this possible. They unload the truck, pack bags and make the monthly deliveries to clients. There are always volunteer opportunities available for those who want to give back to the community. Reach out if you want to volunteer, donate or know someone who may need assistance.
This is a free event open to everyone. There will be a 50/50 raffle, door prizes and music. Food and drinks available for purchase. Join us to see some cool cars, meet some new friends and find out what All Faiths Pantry is all about.
Attendees are asked to bring a non-perishable food item or paper product to donate to All Faiths Pantry. All proceeds will support the grocery delivery program to older adults and others with mobility challenges in our community.
The event will be Wednesday June 5th (rain date June 12) 5pm to 8 pm at Yorktown Lanes, 6218 Pearl Rd. in Parma Hts. For more information visit www.allfaithspantry.org or call 216-469-4329.
