Free! Fun! Family Event!

Bring your family and friends to the Annual We Are Parma Proud’s Picnic In The Park on August 3rd, from 11 AM to 2 PM. It’s back at the Ridgewood Basin Park, formerly known as Ridgewood Lake Park, across the street from The Shoppes at Parma, next to the Splash Pad. Free admission!

The event kicks off with a dedication ceremony of the new Upper Ridgewood Basin by The City of Parma officials and the Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District. Followed by a Pet Parade brought to you by Wall of Books, Theresa Nagy. No entry fees! Parade your costumed pets, any kind, past the judges for the opportunity to win prizes.

Approximately 30 vendors will be spread out along the basin. Non-profits will advise you of their services, they’ll be selling merchandise and have raffle baskets and more. Participating this year is Parma City School District, Parma Animal Shelter, Parma Early Childhood PTA, Parma Senior Veterans, Rise In Love, Old Brook, Catholic Charities Head Start and more. Craft vendors will be selling one of a kind items. Included are jewelry, wearables, t-shirts, crochet items, macramé, air fresheners, art prints and paintings, cotton candy, lemonade, and bakery. Bring cash, as many of these home based vendors aren’t setup to use cash apps or credit cards. Food trucks will also be there selling yummy cheese steaks, BBQ, and ice cream. Or, pack a picnic lunch.

Lots of fun activities for the kids! Games! Prizes! Thee will be sack races, musical chairs, hula hoops, relay races, balloon toss, and more. Plus live music!

Last, but not least, the Community Stuff The Bus, from the Parma City School District will be on site. Items needed are #2 pencils, backpacks, binders, colored pencils, crayons, erasers, folders, glue sticks, pens, highlighters, markers, notebook paper, scissors and pencil sharpeners.
