Mobi-Mats at Stearns
The Parma Area Historical Society (PAHS) will hold a ribbon-cutting on Saturday, August 17, 2024 at 11:00 am to acknowledge the installation of Mobi-mat walkways at Stearns Homestead, making the farm more accessible to wheelchair users and individuals with mobility needs. The portable sidewalks reduce physical barriers and allow all visitors to more easily access the barnyard area and interact with the farm animals.
PAHS is able to make these improvements through a $10,000 grant awarded by the Cuyahoga County Board of Developmental Disabilities.
Stearns Homestead, located at 6975 Ridge Road in Parma, is home to over 75 farm animals. The homestead is free admission and open to the public on Saturdays, May through October, from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm. Guided tours for groups can be scheduled weekdays for a nominal fee. Details on group farm tours can be found at www.stearnshomestead.com.
