The Daily Chronicle
While visiting a Veteran friend in Hospice on Monday 7/22/24 I noticed a paper titled The Daily Chonicle on the table where he was sitting. On the front page there was a Title called, DID YOU KNOW. Under this title was written, Before John Dillinger became Public Enemy No.1, he joined the Navy in order to avoid charges of auto theft in his native Indiana. He didn't last long in the Navy, though. He went AWOL several times before heading back to Indiana and beginning a spree of armed robberies. In 1934 FBI Agents gunned him down outside a movie theater in Chicago. The Famous bank robber and escape artist was known as "PUBLIC ENEMY #1."
