MINI MONSTER WORKSHOP! Just in time for Halloween! Create your own Mini Monster using clay. For ages 9 through adult, on Saturday, October 12, 2024, at the Parma Art Center, located in the Parma Parks & Rec Building, 7335 Ridge Rd. Cost is $10 a person and includes all supplies needed. Local artist is Bili Kribbs is the instructor teaching basic sculpting techniques using polymer clay. To register, email kathrynmabin@att.net. Class size is limited so don’t hesitate.

FREE Figure Drawing at The Parma Art Center, 7335 Ridge Rd (inside City of Parma Parks &Recreation Center). Ongoing FREE figure drawing the 2nd and 4th Mondays of the month, 6:30 to 8:30 PM. October 14th and the 28th. No instructor, just a gathering of artists. Welcome beginning or experienced artists to draw or paint. Live models, fully clothed. Each session a different volunteer model from the community will pose in exchange for a drawing/painting from each artist present. This is a body-positive group, all shapes, sizes, and ages are welcome to pose. Great way for artists to hone your figure drawing skills, meet other artists, in a relaxing atmosphere. FREE Needlework Network at Parma Art Center, 7335 Ridge Rd, beginning Monday, October 14th, 11 am to 2 pm and ongoing weekly throughout the year. Bring your idea, supplies, projects, and share with other needleworkers. Knit, crochet, embroidery, beading, sewing, quilting, doll making, ribbon work, etc. Bring your lunch, coffee, tea, and water provided.

Michelle Behal, President of Parma Arts, and owner/operator of Bear Tracks Art, will be appearing at the Marblehead Lighthouse Festival on Saturday, October 12, 2024, 9 to 6 pm. This event features over 100 arts & crafts vendors, tours of the lighthouse and keeper’s house as well as children’s activities.On October 26, 2024 from 9 to 7 pm Michelle will be at the Halloween Festival at The Rift Shop, 8125 Columbia Rd in Olmsted Falls. There’ll be vendors, food trucks, discounts on merchandise, and prizes.

Gary Nass, Parma resident and Parma Arts member is on display at Frontdoor Gallery, 3838 Brecksville Rd in Richfield.

Anthony DeMarco – A flock of bird sculptures has migrated from Hudson, to Cuyahoga Falls, and now to Akron. Birdsong is a unique art installation of over 150 bird sculptures hand painted by local artists, one of which is Anthony DeMarco, and has been making the rounds to various communities. This installation will be on view through the end of 2024 at the Akron Art Museum located at 1 South Main Street.

Sue Hoilck-Bade – is one of 50 artists donating works to The Gathering Place fundraiser held October 4, 2024, 5:30 to 7:30 pm at Hudson Fine Art, 160 N Main St. in Hudson. All proceeds support current and former cancer patients and their families. Her mixed media work “Any Landing”, which meshes 3D printed elements with organic components, was awarded an honorable mention in the Peninsula Art Academy’s ”Art Through Digital Expression” exhibit running through October 6, 2024. Sue’s watercolor and faux stained-glass creations are on display in the Women’s Art League “3-Media Exhibition through October 31, 2024 at St. Paul’s in Akron. Twenty-two photographs were selected to challenge three W.A.L, members to create original work in paint, clay or fiber.
