FREE Artist Workshops

Color theory studies how colors interact, mix, and work together. Color Theory helps artists, designers, and creators make informed choices about color palettes and their visual effects. It explains how colors work together and how they can be used to evoke emotions and influence perception.

Young Artists Workshop for ages 6 through 12. Two sessions are available, but limited to a maximum of 20 children. Session #1 is held Saturday, June 14th from 1 to 2pm. Session #2 is Monday, June 30th from 6:30 to 7:30pm. Both are taught by a qualified arts instructor, Joanna Ellis. Both sessions will be held at Cuyahoga County Public Library – Powers Branch, in meeting Room C/D at 6996 Powers Blvd in Parma. Learn how by just using three colors you can make all the colors in a rainbow. Parents are invited to stay with their children. All supplies are provided free of charge.
Teens & Adults Workshop for ages 13 through adult. Two sessions are available, but limited to a maximum of 20 participants. Session #1 is Monday, June 30th from 1 to 2:30pm. Session #2 is Tuesday, July 1st from 6:30 to 8pm. Both sessions are taught by a qualified arts instructor, Jan McAndrew. Both sessions will be held at the Parma Arts Center, located inside the Parma Parks & Recreation Bldg., 7335 Ridge Rd. All supplies are provided free of charge. This workshop will teach the fundamentals of color theory, primary/secondary/tertiary colors and how they mix. Using colored pencils to explore techniques for layering color, shading and blending to create depth and texture.
Advance registration is required for all workshops in order to assure the quantity of supplies necessary to provide a quality experience to the participants.
